Position: AGLCMS / ILCMS Project Consultants
Phase 1: Feasibility Study & Future Strategy for the ALCMS
Phase 2: Implement AGLCMS System Roadmap
Project: Feasibility Study & Future Strategy for the ALCMS at Dublin Airport
OUR SCOPE:
Contracted by Dublin Airport Authority (daa) as the Principal Consultants to produce a roadmap for the development strategy of the Dublin Airport ALCMS to meet the requirements of current airfield developments including a new IAA Control Tower and the new Northern Parallel Runway. The strategy also had to include the future proofing of the system for possible future development to a higher level of A-SMGCS or a Follow-the-Green type system.
RESULT:
The outcome of the study was the preparation of a strategy document which is currently being implemented by daa. The road map was split into phases to coincide with developments taking place on the airfield such as the building of a New IAA ATC Control Tower and the construction of the Northern Parallel Runway both of which have significant impacts on the existing ALCMS structure.
The production of the strategic plan followed terms of reference outlined by daa, which included the further integration between IAA (Irish Airports Authority) systems such as the Electronic Flight Strip system (EFPS) and the existing A-SMGCS, to the AGL Control system to automatically switch the airfield stop bars.
Project: To Implement the AGLCMS / ILCMS System Roadmap
SCOPE:
The project includes for the preparation of documentation for separate contract lots to appoint two framework contractors to proceed with works as outlined in the Dublin Airport AGL Control and Monitoring System roadmap.
Contract Lot 1 is to upgrade the ALCMS and is split into 3 different phases:
Phase 1
Modifications to the ALCMS to allow the integration of the new IAA Control Tower into the Airfield Lighting Control and Monitoring system including integrating the existing A-SMGCS system and the new IRVR equipment.
Phase 2
Modifications to the ALCMS to allow the integration of the replacement airfield Substation T fitted with series communication controlled and monitored CCR’s.
Phase 3
Modifications to the ALCMS to allow the integration of the new substations associated with the new Northern Parallel Runway development.
Contract Lot 2
Design and implementation of an ILCMS system. Initially comprising a trial installation to be monitored and assessed over a period of time, the overall plan is to rollout the implementation of ILCMS as the ALCMS phases outlined above are executed.
